What Size Boats are Permitted?

Our facilities accommodate vessels up to 60 feet for hauling and launching. Contact us for special handling or larger craft requirements.

Derecktor; a name you can trust

Tom Derecktor grew up building boats.

Started by his father, Robert E Derecktor, the Derecktor family has been in the shipyard business since 1947. In partnership with Leonora Valvo, Derecktor Ventura is the first Derecktor-brand boatyard on the west coast.

ABOUT TOM DERECKTOR

Inventor, engineer, sailor (laser race anyone?) – Tom has made the journey from ship building through automotive (think Trac-Rac), underwater turbines, chair design (check out www.thefehn.com), back to his roots. Though he created a diverse portfolio, boatyards never left his blood. Don’t be surprised to see innovations emerge from Derecktor Ventura as he and Leonora rethink marina design, electric & hybrid power, adapting sailing to meet the needs of an aging (us too!) population. Tom has two daughters still enjoying winters in the northeast. One lives in New York city in social work, the other in Boston, working to launch a start-up in healthcare.

ABOUT LEONORA VALVO

After a 15 year run in software, Leonora has returned to her roots in hospitality and services. Though she is still actively involved with her last venture, Swoogo, Leonora is having a blast learning an entirely new industry. Leonora grew up on power boats, but longed for the magic and excitement sailing offered. Partnering with Tom in life and business is the perfect culmination of career and adventure. Leonora has four adult children who span entertainment, marketing, asian/vegan restaurant owner (follow MintyZ on insta) and nearly graduated college senior with music aspirations.
